A Brief Stay in Hell
A shocking meditation on faith, human nature and the inexorability of the eternal
Synopsis
Soren Johansson, geologist and ordinary man, has always believed that after life awaits an eternal afterlife to spend with loved ones. Then he really dies, and wakes up projected by a God he had never heard of in a hell of incomprehensible dimensions: an endless library, from which he can only leave by finding the book that contains the story of his life.
In this existential horror, published for the first time in Italy but for years a cult classic among readers around the world, writer, philosopher and ecologist Steven L. Peck explores a subversive vision of eternity: poignant, unsettling and ironic at the same time. Damnation thus becomes a reflection on time, knowledge, faith and the very meaning of existence.
