Who we are

Blackie Edizioni is an independent publishing house based in Milan, founded in 2020 as the “little sister” of Blackie Books in Barcelona. The name is a tribute to an almost legendary dog who never tired of living, just like our ideas. If you like unique stories, books curated with love and that pinch of irreverence, you are in the right place.

Our story: short but intense

2009

The first step

Blackie Books is born in Barcelona: first step of an adventure that will take us around Europe.

2019

Welcome Blackie Editions

Here comes Blackie Edizioni, the Italian little sister ready to fill shelves and bookstores.

2020

A bestselling debut

We're starting with a bang: The Disgusting Santiago Lorenzo is climbing the charts and the first Holiday Homework Notebook for Adults is coming (spoiler alert: a success).

2022

Classic, but modern

We are launching the Classici Liberati series, for those who want some immortal literature, but without the old clichés.

What we do

Initially, we brought some of Blackie Books' classics to Italy, such as The Simpsons and Philosophy and David Bowie's Book Club . Then we started looking for local talent, publishing Italian authors such as Chiara Galeazzi ( Poor Woman ) and Paolo Armelli ( The Art of Being Raffaella Carrà, Altricorpi ). Not just books, but projects for those who love true stories and a bookstore that talks about us.

Our vision

Blackie Edizioni publishes fiction, non-fiction and everything that inspires us, with a special focus on contemporary women's fiction ( The Devourers, We'll All Die, But Not Today ) and feminist non-fiction ( Daddy's Beauty, Difficult Women ).

Our commitment

We like to imagine our books as faithful travel companions: made to last, full of stories, and ready to be lived. Between stories that move and essays that make you think, each volume is a small tribute to our beloved Blackie.
