Foucault in California

€18,60

A true story - the night the eminent philosopher took acid and discovered the Truth.

Synopsis

Imagine an evening in the California desert, the stars twinkling in the sky, the finest classical music, just the right amount of LSD, and one of the greatest philosophers of the twentieth century.
This book is the story of the "most important experience" of Michel Foucault's life, narrated by the person who guided him through a night that many thought was a legend and instead was a personal revolution. A journey into the depths of oneself that changed the French thinker forever, so much so that it pushed him to rewrite his masterpiece History of Sexuality.

After thirty years in a box, the testimony of that mystical experience has taken shape, becoming a unique book, hilarious and enlightening at the same time. Between yoga sessions, reflections on human nature, confessions and visions, Foucault in California is a road novel, a philosophical dialogue and a story of queer formation. A dizzying and extravagant journey, which demonstrates how to reach the Truth you can take the most varied paths. And sometimes hallucinatory ones.
