Poverina
"I had always put everything on the brain, and this is how he repaid me."
Synopsis
Has it ever happened to you, while you are comfortably sitting on the couch at home, to no longer feel half of your body, and end up hospitalized urgently for a cerebral hemorrhage? No? To Chiara Galeazzi, yes. At 34 years old.
This book is the story – full of humor, emotion and without any rhetoric, nor “warriors” or “heroines” – of what happened next. The unexpected diagnosis, the fear that life has changed forever, the strange reassurances of the doctors (“how lucky to have a stroke when you are young!”), the No Vax who wish her death, the surreal stories of the hospital fauna.
And then the search for a cause that cannot be found, the long rehabilitation, the boredom and the orthopedic slippers. All under the compassionate and at the same time mortifying gaze of the other people, who think and say in unison: "Poor thing".
