The Feminist Fight Club.
Synopsis
This is the story of a hunger that never goes away. And of Roberta, who lives trying not to take up space.
At almost thirty, she is stuck in a meaningless job. One day she meets Stevie, she is free and dangerous. They become friends, move in together. Then they invent the Supper Club. A collective of women tired of being told they must talk less, eat less, cost less, be less. But the more popular and subversive the club becomes, the more Roberta is forced to reconcile herself with the vulnerability of her own body – and the past she has worked so hard to repress.
The Devourers is a story about the hunger for life. A novel about growing up and finding your place in the world.
