Il libro della Luna

€18,00

A scientific and poetic journey into the secrets of the moon.

Synopsis

When we arrived, the Moon was already shining high in the sky. And it continues to be one of the great mysteries of the universe. What secrets do its craters hide? How does it affect the tides and human emotions? How many lives were sacrificed in its name in times past? And in our days, starting with the famous dog Laika? What would become of us, and of our world, without the Moon? Fatoumata Kébé, a French astronomer and astrophysicist, has dedicated her life to studying the Earth's satellite. And now she has written this splendid tribute to the Moon and its cosmogony. The Moon has inspired novels, poems and songs for millennia. It deserved that someone, finally, would tell its story. For Kébé, the Moon is the novel of her life, her great love story. She knows that soon she will go into space, she will walk on the hidden side of the white satellite. Thanks to this book, vibrant and bright as a summer night, we can imagine accompanying her on the journey she has dreamed of since she was a child.
