La voglia
What would your life be like without sex?
Synopsis
Benito lives his life without enthusiasm, but he is tormented by desire: he hasn't had sex for three years. That's why he collects key rings, suffers the unspeakable when he sees a beautiful woman on the subway and drinks too much sambuca. He has confided his drama only to his sister, even though everyone, at work and on the street, notices his anguish. And his abstinence.
Benito is a chemist and an entrepreneur. He invented a miraculous substance that regenerates wood, but he has been waiting for months for the conclusion of the agreement with the company that could commercialize it and in the meantime he is starving.
At a certain point, the solution to all his problems, both work-related and personal, materializes before his eyes. It takes the form of María, a girl who is working on a thesis on polychrome wood. Benito doesn’t dare meet her, but he puts on perfume to send her emails and keeps a folder of unsent messages where he writes things like: “I love you because I want to be like you.” He’s afraid to tell her, but he would really like to.
